Liberty Telephone Daily Sobriety Renewal (DSR)

- Use the format as from “The Essay” or the following:

Optional intro:

(Reading of phone meeting guidelines/etiquette)

“Just so we are all aware, the goal of this Daily Sobriety Renewal is not the same as a conventional meeting, so

we ask all callers limit their shares to one or two sentences, so everyone has an opportunity to answer the list of

questions.

Our real goal is to hear the question and say yes in our hearts, and a sentence or two if appropriate, but not to

give each other our full story or last week’s drunkalog. We want to commit in our hearts to each other and with

God to what it takes to stay sober just for today. Sometimes gentle cross talk may be allowed as we want to help

each other be accountable to each other and see the light.”

1. Let's take a moment to introduce ourselves by first name only and state our length of sexual sobriety

and where we are calling from. My name is ____ & I'm a sexaholic in Philly, Denver, Montreal etc.

2. Will you please join me in the Serenity Prayer? “God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I

cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference. Thy will, not

mine, be done.”

3. Are we willing to admit we are powerless over lust and sexual acting out just for today?

4. Do we desire sobriety for the next 24 hours? (i.e. Freedom from the actions and/or obsessions of

lust; surrendering all fear, self-pity and entitlement; freedom from resentment, shame, and isolation?

Do we desire freedom from all seven deadly sins: anger, envy, greed, gluttony, pride, sloth and of

course lust?)

5. Are we willing to do whatever is necessary to protect this desire, including such things as spiritual

reading; reaching out and calling others; prayer and meditation; doing step work, giving and

receiving sponsorship, physical care of our bodies; setting appropriate boundaries; going to

meetings; and refusing all lust or other hits as toxic?

6. Just for today, do we commit to God and this group that we do not have to have sex with ourselves

or anyone else (except a spouse) no matter what, realizing that at the end of this 24 hours we are free

to continue with sobriety or go another way?

7. Do we realize this renewal doesn’t keep us sober, God does, but it does make us aware of ourselves

& accountable to others?

8. Is there anything we are ashamed of in the past 24 hours, lustful or otherwise that we need to bring

to the light?

9. Are we aware of anything in our plans for the next 24 hours of which we might become ashamed?

Any danger zones, slippery spots on the horizon, or hidden bottles we should bring to the light?

10. Let’s share about time spent with higher power in the past 24 hours.

11. Let’s share about our recovery plan for the next 24 hours?

12. Let’s share about one thing we are grateful for/proud of?

13. And just for today, are we willing now to hand over our wills and the care of our lives to the One

who kept us sober yesterday and protected us from the full consequences of our lust in the past?

14. May God bless us all and let’s remember we are never alone. Let’s close with the 3rd step prayer on

page 95 of WB/page 63 of Big Book, or Lord’s Prayer.
